Avengers? Amazing Spiderman? Ghost Rider? Judge Dredd (technically a superhero I guess)
All movies coming out at some point this year. JD has been in post production for a year. I have no idea whether thats because its crap or they want to get it right after the Stallone effort more or less killed the franchise dead as a movie series. Anyone interested/excited in the others?
I *think* avengers or spiderman is up next. Avengers should be good. Spiderman? too soon for a reboot, they messed about with the costume and I get this strange deja vu feeling of low budget Nicholas Hammond (he of the Sound of Music who donned tights in the 70s to kung fu as spiderman for a while) with the on the outside single web shooter. Hmmm. I am not hopeful about that one. Can honestly say I will wait for a review before bothering to see it.
Ghost Rider 1 had Nicholas cage in, should give some idea of the films quality (that said I loved 'Family Man' with him in, the best film you've never seen in my opinion), I know nothing about GR2.
Opinions? Other movies about supers I've missed? Already covered in another thread? talking to myself (nothing new there)?

Avengers? Meh. I'm sure I'll pay to see it. I'm sure I'll wish I hadn't
Spider-Man? I know I'm going to get panned for saying so, but I think it looks a lot better than the Tobey version.
Ghost Rider? He pees fire. 'Nuff said.
Judge Dredd? Didn't even know it existed. I'm somewhat of a fan of the source material, but then I also liked the universally panned Stallone movie.

Avengers looks good and I think there's a thread down a few pages on that.
Spider-Man... what WK said.
Ghost Rider... also what WK said.
Judge Dredd... who cares?

I am tempted to watch GR2 just to see why he had to pee so bad

I’m really looking forward to Avengers…which probably isn’t a good thing because my favorite Marvel movies are the ones that I had the lowest expectations of.
The thing about the last Spider-Man trilogy is that they did a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong. They may have changed directors but I’m sure they still have a lot of the same executives so I don’t anticipate a huge upswing in quality. I’m lukewarm at best here when you add in that we’re losing JK Simmons as JJJ (hands down the best casting in any Marvel movie) and we’ve lost all the momentum from the first three movies (I was really hoping Bruce Campell would become Mysterio and join the Sinister Six … not to mention all those Lizard hints that went nowhere) and we’ll have to sit through another origin movie before things go anywhere.
I didn’t hate Ghost Rider as much as most comic fandom seems to but I didn’t love it either. GR2 looks like more of the same so I’ll probably see it but not necessarily in theaters.
I don’t care about Judge Dredd.
Really looking forword to Batman though.

Still don't see how including the character if Dr. Conners counts as a Lizard hint.

Avengers? Well, it could go either way. It might be pretty good or it might be bad. Hmm. I like Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, but Iron Man 2 was a bit crap otherwise. I enjoyed Thor. So yeah, I'll probably go and see it.
Amazing Spider-Man? Honestly, I didn't think any of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films were much good. Spider-Man was mediocre. Spider-Man 2 was mediocre. Spider-Man 3 was ridiculous crap. The world still needs a good Spider-Man movie. I'm hoping it'll be this one.
Ghost Rider? I'm pretty sure that this film is going to be nothing but insane, puerile nonsense. Will I go to see it? Hmm. Probably not. I didn't bother going to see the last Ghost Rider movie.
Judge Dredd? I know that most of the other people on this board don't care about this movie, but I do (so there's your answer to the question: "who cares?"). I will admit to being a fan of Judge Dredd (a casual fan, but still). I didn't like the Stallone movie, not because it was badly-written, badly-acted and stupid (which it was), but chiefly because the movie differed from the comics in ways I wish it hadn't. I want this movie to be good, and I'll go and see it when it comes out.

Avengers~ Yes. Very excited.
Amazing Spiderman~ I agree. Too soon, and I'm a fan of the Toby ones... so... yeah. Meh.
Ghost Rider~ Loved the idea, was VERY disappointed with the first one. I'll go see it for sure... but, I won't say I'm excited.
Judge Dredd~ OOOOOooo. I hadn't heard about this, but I *AM* going to go look for stuff now... I loved the previous one, even if I'm in the minority. It introduced me to the JD's comics existance.

Can't wait for Avengers - not so much because I think it will rock, but because I really want to see how it turns out, and what they're doing with that insane cast and all those storylines. It's either the future of the comic book movie, or the beginning of the end (or at least a significant footnote in the end). Joss Whedon rarely lets me down, though.
Not going to see The Emo Neighbourhood Spiderman, though. It looks like someone spilled Twilight all over it.
Didn't see the first Ghost Rider, and probably never will. Can't see a reason to check out the sequel.
I'm pretty neutral about the Judge Dredd movie. Never read the comics.

Looking forward to the Avengers for basically the same reason as TWF not because I think it'll great but because I want to see how it turns out and what they do with it.
Looking forward to the Spidey reboot because honestly SM3 sucked monkey butt. One of the worst of the Marvel movies IMO. Hopefully they'll do away with the organic web-shooters crap and hopefully they'll cast someone better than Tobey Macguire as Spidey/Peter Parker. Great actor but I still have trouble picturing him as Spiderman. I agree with Beacon thought. The guy who played Jameson was perfect. I'd like to see a Black Cat appearance in the future too.
Completely forgot they were doing a sequel to Ghost Rider. Haven't seen any previews or trailers or ads. I'll see it (though probably not in theaters) but honestly the first one was lacking somewhat.
Never even knew they were doing a re-do of Judge Dredd. I liked the original though I never knew it was a comic first or anything. I'd be interested in seeing it at some point but honestly I have no expectations for it. Most likely it won't be any good but who knows? We might be surprised.

I'm looking forward to Avengers, any doubts I have of the movie being great is pretty much taken care of by Joss Whedon's involvement. I know he's not all that to everyone, but I basically have loved every thing he's done with the exception of his run on Runaways. Little stuff, like Cap being the 'eyes of the audience' character just make it that much more awesome.
Spidey will be interesting. I think it'll be good... I think it would have been better if it didn't have the Tobey ones to compare with. If they get the things right Tobey was missing, such as the quippage and pathos that comes from something other than fighting my mentor, it'll be pretty fly.
I don't do "Ghost Rider."
Judge Dredd isn't really my thing. I don't get the appeal of it.

Can't wait for Avengers...all those storylines. Elaborate? Which storylines? Perhaps "storylines" is the wrong word - I mean that they have a half dozen characters from four different movie franchises all sharing one film. That's a lot to reconcile, and I want to see how they do it. ~TWF

Avengers: I'm sort of excited, at the moment it's my most hyped hero movie this year, though I'm excited to see if I can recognize any locations from filming. Amazing Spiderman: I didn't know it was coming out this year, thought it was next year...um, not sure kinda looking for who the villain is for this movie, might set the perspective of how well this movie is going to be Ghost Rider: Gah! Not going to happen Judge Dredd: Yeah, I'd go watch it, though I'd prefer to go with some friends, good or bad I'd at least be able to be in company
